Upon graduating from dental school, dentists must complete two to three additional years of training if they want to become pediatric dentists. How can I help my child practice good oral hygiene at home?

Every child is different, and what works for some kids may not work at all for others. If you have a specific concern, our team can work with you to come up with a few solutions that you can try. In general, we tell families to try to make dental care seem as fun as possible for their kids to encourage healthy habits. Putting on a fun song to signal that it’s time to brush their teeth can help. You can also try telling your child that there are “sugar monsters” on their teeth, and the only way to fight them off is by brushing and flossing regularly.

How can I help my child feel more comfortable at the dentist?
